BIS Industrial Services Ltd - Change In CEO

Ian Nickerson will retire as CEO of BIS Industrial Services at the end of 2008.

As new CEO of the BIS UK group of companies Steve Waugh, currently CEO of BIS OHARE and an Executive Director of BIS Industrial Services, will take over the responsibility for the UK business.

Steve will be supported by the experienced management team of the 3 UK subsidiaries, namely Mike Main, MD of BIS Salamis M&I Ltd, David Nickerson, MD of BIS Salamis Ltd, Duncan Hall, MD of BIS OHARE Ltd and Gordon Davidson, CFO of the UK group.

On behalf of the UK Board and of Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG in Munich, I wish to place on record our thanks to Ian for his contribution to BIS Salamis over the last nine years and his leadership of our growth in the UK following the acquisition of BIS OHARE in 2007, following which he took over the responsibility of BIS Industrial Services Ltd as a CEO.  Ian has agreed to continue to provide his market knowledge and experience to the multinational BIS AG in the future and of course support Steve during handover of his responsibilities.

Steve is a graduate Mechanical Engineer who has spent the last eight years growing and developing BIS OHARE into a leading engineering supplier to operating companies in the Chemical and Refining markets of the UK.  He has prior international experience with ICI, Bechtel and Costain in the Chemical, Oil and Refining sectors with senior roles in Project Management, Engineering, Process R&D and Production Management.  Steve completed his business education at INSEAD during his career with ICI prior to joining the OHARE business in 2000 following the sale of ICI commodity Chemical businesses in that period.

BIS Industrial Services is focused via Salamis on maintaining our leading offshore position in the provision of Fabric Maintenance and related specialist services including our growing inspection capability.  We recognise the expectations of our customers to seek out added value propositions to improve productivity of our service delivery and to improve interface efficiencies with the established Engineering suppliers.

In the onshore market BIS OHARE Ltd and BIS Salamis Ltd have challenging growth plans utilising whenever possible their combined capabilities to offer customers safe, reliable and increasingly productive services to the maintenance and project outsource sectors.  We will achieve these growth targets by helping customers reduce costs and improve production performance from their manufacturing assets, innovating in solution delivery through the excellence of BIS people.
